Advent & Christmas is a
beautiful time of year,
and we look forward
to having you join us!
The season of ADVENT in the church leads to Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, the 12 Days of Christmas, and Epiphany. Advent means "an arrival" and during the four Sundays of Advent, we anticipate celebrating again the arrival of the Christ Child as we further anticipate His future Second Coming.
Traditionally, Christmas is celebrated over the 12 Days of Christmastide following December 25th. This celebration culminates with a remembrance of the arrival of the Magi (wise men from the East) on what is known as Epiphany Sunday (epiphany is from a Greek word meaning "an appearance" or "a realization"). Reclaiming and celebrating the traditional Advent and Christmastide seasons offers an excellent way to avoid the busyness, stress, and negative effects of secular Christmas. The Christmas celebration doesn't end on December 25, it begins!
