Did you know that in every sermon message there are actually
FOUR messages?

(1) The message the pastor prepares
(2) The message the pastor gives
(3) The message the people hear
(4) The message the pastor wishes had been given

(1 & 2) Preparation must always give way to the moving of Holy Spirit. A proper message is one in which the pastor is the means through which God's Word comes to us.
(3) Holy Spirit touches people in different ways. Different people are moved by a message in different ways.
(4) Pastors are their own toughest critics. They always think about the message that might have been.
