We're always working on something at preschool. Building, drawing, running, counting, singing, painting... it seems like we're up to our elbows in fun.
And we are.

Preschool is busy.
Preschoolers are busier.

Already this school year, we've been on field trips, enjoyed special celebrations, and participated in Broadway Presbyterian Church's worship services. All of which have been great, meaningful experiences for our students. We always have a lot going on as a part of our preschool program- it's a busy schedule. But our most important work happens when we're busy in the classrooms- when our preschoolers are busy.

By "busy", I mean engaged.  Our students are engaged in their projects, in their play, in their friendships. As they play, they plan and as they plan, they prepare. This connection to their play and activities helps them build on their own learning- increasing their foundation for knowledge.

And knowledge is power.

Are you busy? So am I. I'm learning to recognize when I'm busy but not engaged. Our preschoolers remind me to be in the moment (even when I'm not with them). And that is powerful!
